Bio
I grew up in Aurora with 3 brothers, so hanging with them meant playing sports. Running was my first love. I ran track and CC in school, and enjoyed training on the trails with my coach and teammates. I discovered yoga while recovering from an injury. At my first class, I wondered how far i could get on an 8 foot mat! But soon I fell in love with the poses and the way my muscles and joints felt during and after yoga. My health, bone density, spinal alignment, and emotional well-being have all benefited from my yoga practice. I am awed and amazed at the healing power of bodily movement, and yoga especially makes me feel empowered and strong

Bio
Born and raised right here in the Joliet/Shorewood area.  I’ve lived here my entire life except from 2002-2011 when I lived in Iowa City, IA.  University of Iowa Alum, Go Hawkeyes! I am married with 3 wonderful kids.  2 beautiful albeit very strong willed daughters (almost 4 and 2) and a super sweet easy going son who is almost 5 months old.   I am very excited to be working here at Hometown and can’t wait to get to know everyone.

Biggest obstacle in your her training
I can’t think of one specific obstacle, I think we are always overcoming obstacles especially when we get stagnant in our workouts.  Your body thrives on change so anytime I feel myself stuck I just mix stuff up and hope I see positive changes.

It’s about what you learn on the way down.  I began my yoga teacher training with the intention to share yoga with my local community and show how it can change a person’s body and mind. Along the way, I also found that yoga should be fun. My classes combine Vinyasa and Yin principles, while also keeping the class lighthearted!
